Latchi Dive Centre is located on the Akamas Peninsular, an area of outstanding natural beauty on the north-west coast of Cyprus. The Akamas is the only large unspoiled coastal area remaining in Cyprus and one of the very few important sea turtle nesting areas in the Mediterranean. Both the Loggerhead Turtle and the rarer Green Turtle nest here; the latter relies on the Akamas beaches for its survival in this region. The Akamas National Park is only a few minutes away from the dive centre. The areas’ natural beauty continues below the surface of the crystal clear waters. Stunning walls, caves, swim-throughs and abundant marine life makes for some great diving. So after diving, explore the Akamas, a truly memorable experience for those visiting the area, both above and below the surface.

Snorkelling at Aphrodite’s Baths near Latchi

A favourite place for some snorkelling in Cyprus is Aphrodite’s Baths near Latchi on the Akamas coastline. Â Easy to get to, easy to park, a beach to keep the family entertained, lots of fish – not to be missed.
Aphrodite’s Baths has a beach surrounded by rocks the fish just love. The water is clear and gently slopes down getting deeper in the middle of the bay. You can either gently drift along taking in the abundance of fish around the rocks, or freedive down in the deeper parts.
The only caution is the bay is popular with people driving rented boats (who don’t necessarily think about snorkellers). Keep to the edges or around the rocks, or use a float on the surface to advertise your presence to even the dumbest holiday captain.
The Polis/Latchi side of the island has the most unspoilt beaches. Lara bay on the Akamas peninsula is sandy and stunning but takes a little effort to access as you need a 4×4 vehicle.
Relax beach down at Pomos has pebbles and lots of small rocks so you can snorkel happily, though Pomos itself is very quiet.
Latchi is a good base as you have pebble/shingle/sand beaches on either side of the town and lots of small coves as you go up the coastline from Latchi towards the Akamas – perfect for snorkeling!
Alternatively you have the totally unspoilt Chrysochous bay stretching from Polis past Argaka and other coastal villages. It’s a mix of sand and shingle but has various rocky sections for snorkeling.
